To me, the stages of success are: Survival, Recognition, Financial freedom, Legacy.

I was born in Alabat Island, Quezon Province. We moved to Manila because my father was working for the National Power Corp. at that time. I am the eldest of three kids.  I majored in BS Accounting in Lyceum of the Philippines. Back then, my father was earning well and life was pretty much comfortable. However, two years after I graduated, things changed drastically.  He was diagnosed with kidney disease, received extensive medical treatment, but eventually passed away. The entire family fund was wiped out. And my life completely turned upside down. All of a sudden, I became the head of the family. I worked as an employee, but I realized soon enough that my salary could not support my mother, two siblings, and myself. I started to look for other opportunities. At that time, my goal was simply to make both ends meet. Never did I imagine that I would eventually become an Entrepreneur in Sales. I went into direct selling and sold anything under the sun. At the same time, I became a garment manufacturer for export. That was the result of a lot of hard work and determination with the help of my husband.  Finally, I could support my mother and siblings. That was my first stage of success, SURVIVAL. Money was good, but it did not last long.  I made some really bad decisions. The business went bankrupt. Back to zero.

In 2004, I was  blessed to be given a chance to be hired by a well-known financial institution. I worked there for almost 17 years, starting out as a Bancassurance employee. I was a consistent President’s Awardee as an advisor, 2-time top  Bancassurance Area Manager of the year, and 3-time top  Bancassurance Division manager of the year. To be given several awards, recognition, and travel incentives, was my second stage of success: RECOGNITION.

I believed that God led me to this kind of work because it really helped me a lot in making sound financial decisions and in restoring my substantial losses.  I received my first 7- digit commission in a quarter and it was followed by more. I was now a better financial planner. At this point, I was stable and that was my third stage of success: FINANCIAL FREEDOM.                                                      

In 2017,  I joined Philamlife with the purpose of sharing my experience and  knowledge in financial planning.  I was appointed Unit Manager. In my four years as agency leader, I was a GAMA Awardee twice.

What about my last stage of success? On a personal level, I want to spend more time with my family. Career wise, I  want  to continue helping and guiding people who wish to become entrepreneurs. I owe a lot to this industry and I feel that the best way to show my gratitude is to leave a wonderful LEGACY. With God’s help, I know I can do it.
